More Info
On Subsupra, I explore the relationship between foreground and background elements in music. I wanted to play around with the expectations of how sounds are usually presented.

About

The sound design is heavily influenced by my personal experience with auditory hallucinations while falling asleep. It starts with a big comeup, then explores a dreamlike space full of textures, virtual rooms and emotional states before peaking in the moving ending of "Metanoia".

To really question the relationship between foreground and background, there are parts where the background elements are intentionally louder than the lead melody. I also used noise reduction software in reverse to output what is usually removed, highlighting the artifacts and noise we usually try to hide.

Subsupra was released 06.10.2024 on non-evil music platforms. This included Bandcamp, Jam.coop and Mirlo as well as Tiger record store. Over the next 6 months 1 track was released each month on the mainstream big tech streaming platforms. The full album was released 04.03.2025.

Released October 6, 2024
